Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Our leadership team has an unusually deep level of industry knowledge and insight around diversity issues, which we leverage for thought leadership. In 2020, various company leaders contributed to a series of articles about understanding the state of media. Method also has an ongoing partnership with PR Daily and has contributed numerous articles on topics ranging from the importance of recognizing unconscious biases in hiring to the benefits of promoting diversity and inclusion in industry awards.

Diversity

We define diversity as the entire range of human differences. Each person has layers of diversity, made up of their experiences, values and worldviews. Our layers are built from differences in culture and circumstances. Method seeks to create a work environment that represents all of our identities and differences through effective policy and process revision and creation. Our goal is to strengthen and celebrate our diversity in order to benefit each employee and client.

We define equity as the fair treatment, access, opportunity and advancement for all employees. In order to tackle issues of equity in the workplace, Method recognizes and accepts that injustice, partiality, bias and unfairness exists in ourselves, our culture and our processes. We define inclusion as an outcome, in which we create an environment where individuals, regardless of their differences, feel welcomed, empowered and respected. We are building a culture of belonging through words and actions. Our goal is to support traditionally excluded individuals and groups to be decision/ policy makers at Method.

Our Charitable Work

Method’s pro bono work remains focused on diversity and inclusion initiatives, specifically with organizations supporting LGBTQ rights and women in leadership. Our partners in our charitable efforts include Parity.org, Encircle, Utah Wonder Women, and the Utah Women & Leadership Project.

Method is made up of an award-winning team. Not only does the agency win awards, our people are consistently recognized for their excellence. We believe that begins with the recognition they get internally. Our leadership invests significant resources into employee mental health, wellbeing, education and development — and we praise outstanding performance regularly. Method’s value system is reinforced by its recognition program. Every month, the agency awards “The Thumb” – a trophy in the shape of a thumbs-up – to an employee nominated by their peers.
