Chronosphere
INTO THE
MAGIC QUADRANT AND BEYOND
What does it take to debut in the Gartner Magic Quadrant — as a Leader?
The challenge
Chronosphere was a pioneering startup in one the most crowded corners of enterprise software: observability. Despite being a first-to-market technical innovator, the company was invisible where it mattered most — in the influential analyst research and vendor roundups that shape enterprise buying decisions.
In a category defined by massive competitive overlap and confusion, Chronosphere needed to seize control of its own narrative and earn credible, positive inclusion in the reports that buyers trust.
The solution
Method built Chronosphere’s analyst relations program from the ground up. We identified the priority analysts who defined the category and led an intensive eight-month tour to sharpen the company’s positioning and establish its credibility firm by firm.
Through thoughtful relationship building and narrative refinement, we turned skeptics into supporters, arming analysts with the materials, messaging and proof points they needed to see Chronosphere as an innovator and market leader.
That work built such deep trust that the company rehired Method to cover the maternity leave of its internal AR lead — handing us full ownership of analyst strategy in the lead-up to the high-stakes Gartner Magic Quadrant submission.
The impact
A year before their Gartner Magic Quadrant debut, most analysts had never heard of Chronosphere. Then they appeared in the Quadrant — not on the margins, but as a Leader, an entrance nobody saw coming.
The placement marked Chronosphere’s first-ever inclusion in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Observability, validating its shift from emerging feature play to established market leader. Along the way, the program generated more than 20 report inclusions across firms including Forrester and IDC, and 52 analyst engagements across seven core firms.
Most tellingly, the relationships we built converted contacts into contracts, driving inbound analyst calls and direct referrals that fed straight into Chronosphere’s sales pipeline.
